Atefeh Abed
Atefeh had a bachelor's degree in law and was preparing to take the bar exam next spring so that she could practice as a lawyer. Only about a month before this incident (on December 4, 1404), she had begun her life together after years of waiting, and it had been a short time since her wedding.
Atefeh was shot in the evening of January 19, 1404 during a protest rally in Meraj Square, Mashhad. According to various reports, this incident occurred in a chaotic and crowded street.
Due to the heavy crowd, clashes, and blocked roads, she could not be transported to medical centers in a timely and immediate manner. She was eventually transferred to Hasheminejad Hospital in Mashhad and underwent surgery, but died from the severity of the gunshot wound to the back of the head.
Atefeh Abed's body was buried on January 13, 1404 in the cemetery of the village of Ahmadabad, Golmekan (a part of Chenaran in Khorasan Razavi Province).
